Hi everyone! I'm still here, I promise!! It's been a crazy year and to be honest, the whole first half of 2013 is a blur to me. Dennis and I bought a house in March and got married in June. Holy head-spinning-life-changes batman!
We love our new house and are still working to get settled (who knew it would take this long?!). We are in North Liberty now, and love it. There's even a lake that I see when I look out the window of my bead room. That's right. Bead. Room. Not only did I get to marry my best friend and the man of my dreams, I now have a home with a room devoted to my love of all things jewelry making AND I get to see a lake out my window! Does it GET any better than that?!
Our wedding was perfect, and we wouldn't change a thing! I'm glad to just "be married" now and not worry about wedding planning. Who knew a small wedding would still be a lot of work? We didn't... But nonetheless, it was a day we relive in photos and conversation all the time and my dress is currently hanging on our bedroom door because I don't have the heart yet to let the dry cleaner's have it. Someday...
It's August now and I've finally gotten back to "making pretty things" as we call it. It feels SO good!! I've been playing with clay again and experimenting with new techniques. I love it. In fact, I can't quite seem to get enough of it. Last night, I needed to watch a video clip to help me clarify the directions of a technique, so I laid down on the couch and thought "I'll just listen first". I fell asleep. I was like a little kid sqeeeeeeezing the very last little bit of energy left just because I wanted to keep doing what I was doing. Can you blame me though?
Stay tuned for new and REALLY amazing new pieces! I can't wait to show them! Maybe I'll have time to grab a few photos and get them up soon.
Oh, and my email will stay as [email protected] for now. I am officially Karen Kann so you will so those posted on cards if I see you at any shows (which, btw, will be coming up in Nov and Dec). Maybe I'll see some of you then!
Cheers!
